Foundation - ACELA1817

Success criteria

Lesson

Modelled

  1. Begin the lesson by inviting students on a letter hunt. (Use whatever letter you are working on understanding).

  2. Eg ‘T’. Ask students to find something in the classroom that:

  3. starts with ‘t’
  4. ends with ‘t’
  5. has ‘t’ in the middle
  6. Ask students to return as a group and give feedback on what they found in the classroom that included the letter ‘t’. Encourage students to share where the letter ‘t’ is found in the word ie. beginning, middle or end.

  7. Read a familiar book, with minimal text. For example, ‘Not Cute’ by Phillip Bunting.
