An Aussie Christmas Text Innovation

As the year comes to an end, Christmas fever begins to set in! This Christmas themed unit is a great way to engage your students, learning right up until the end of the year! In this unit, students will explore text innovations. They will have an opportunity to delve into narrative writing and adapt a familiar text by making meaningful changes to character, setting, complications and/or resolutions. Students will engage in the writing process from drafting to receiving feedback, editing and publishing. Finally, students will innovate a familiar Christmas song by following its rhythm and word patterns while exploring adjectives and present continuous verbs. This unit is highly adaptable for students across Foundation to Year 2, allowing for differentiation according to the abilities of your students. A fun and exciting way to end the year!
