Making Inferences

Using a range of texts, this mini-unit will explicitly step students through the skill of inferring meaning. A number of different mentor texts are suggested, however this unit lends itself well to most fiction and non-fiction texts. While these lessons work well as a sequence and have been designed to complement each other, they can also be used as stand alone lessons when teaching students how to infer.
