Noteworthy Narratives

This mini unit will support students to enhance the level of detail and description in their narrative writing. Students will create and describe both a character and setting, using the mentor text ‘The Lost Thing’ by Shaun Tan, as inspiration. Throughout the unit, students will be explicitly taught to generate and sort descriptive vocabulary, create complex sentences and apply the six senses to write descriptive texts.
