This lesson will provide your students with an explicit and effective planning tool when faced with writing a narrative text! Students will think deeply about their SIX senses (what they can see, hear, smell, touch, taste, PLUS, how they feel) in response to a prompt. This lesson will prepare your students with the confidence to generate original ideas and reduce that very familiar, “I don’t know what to write about”!

Planning Strategies for Narrative

This mini unit will provide your students with some explicit and effective strategies and tools so they feel 100% prepared for writing a narrative. Give them the confidence to dive straight into their writing with frameworks to support them to plan and generate ideas for any narrative prompt. This unit has been designed to be taught in a sequence, however the lessons will also work on their own.
