Questioning - Jeremy

This mini unit will explicitly step students through learning about the key reading skills of synthesizing, questioning, and determining importance. This unit uses the text ‘Jeremy’ by Chris Faille & Danny Snell, to guide student thinking, encouraging them to learn about a factual topic (kookaburras), while reading a fiction text. While these lessons can be used with any mentor text, and as stand alone lessons, they have been designed to complement each other and to be used in a sequence.
