SIFT Analysis of Texts

This mini unit will explicitly step students through the skill of analysing a range of texts using the SIFT analysis framework. Each lesson in the unit will take one element from the model and support your students to dive in and identify each independently - S (symbolism), I (imagery), F (figurative language and foreshadowing), T (Theme). While they have been designed to be taught in a sequence, these lessons can be completed as stand alone lessons with another text of choice.
