Using Expression With Roald Dahl Characters
This series of lessons focuses on reading aloud, explicitly teaching students the skills of using expression, tone, pitch, volume, and gestures to engage audiences. It uses the texts ‘The Twits’, ‘The Witches’, and ‘Songs and Verse’ by Roald Dahl, and creates the opportunity for students to use drama and role play to develop their range of vocal effects. These lessons can also be completed as a stand alone lesson and with another text of choice.
