Where The Wild Things Are: Character Creation

This fun and hands-on unit explores the text, ‘Where The Wild Things Are’ by Maurice Sendak. Students can analyse the characters in the story, considering how thoughts, feelings, actions and personality contribute to their character traits. The unit explicitly introduces what a character is, focusing on their ‘inside’ and ‘outside’ character traits. Students will learn how to use a range of interesting adjectives to describe characters. They will then apply all of this knowledge to create, describe and act-out their own wild thing character.
