Writing Poetry With Michael Rosen
This series of lessons will expose students to the wonderful world of poetry using the work of Michael Rosen. Three of Michael Rosen’s poems (‘Don’t’, ‘Where Broccoli Comes From’ and ‘Chocolate Cake’) are used to inspire students’ writing and spark creativity. Students will explore repetition as a poetic device, develop their ability to tell a story through poetry, and practise reading poetry aloud using expression. These lessons can be taught separately, but work well as a sequence and deep exploration of Michael Rosen’s work.
